Vendors submitting tenders to the City of Greater Sudbury can take advantage of the city's new online service, which also provides free downloading of tender and quotation packages for city contracts.

"Suppliers of various goods and services can download specifications and tender forms by logging onto the city's Web site from their home or office computer," Greater Sudbury Mayor Jim Gordon says. "The result is improved convenience, less need for travel to Tom Davies Square, and a purchasing policy that is accessible to every citizen with Internet access."

Vendors may also submit an electronic registration form to be added to the City of Greater Sudbury bidders' list for automatic notification of appropriate business opportunities and deadlines. Vendors submitting a bid to the city have the option of being notified of addenda to tenders via e-mail.

Although at present engineering tenders cannot be accessed electronically, the city is working to build technical drawings into the system.
