North Bay pitch showcase to feature Northern startups

Northern Ontario Angels hosting Venture North Bay on Oct. 13

Northern Ontario startups will share their business stories during a pitch showcase during Venture North Bay on Oct. 13.

The event is an initiative of Northern Ontario Angels (NOA), an angel investing network that provides Northern Ontario entrepreneurs with resources to become investment-ready, and connects them with investors who can provide capital to grow their businesses.

During the in-person event, attendees will hear from Dum Audio and Wrmth, along with Alicia Woods of Covergalls, who will appear via video.

The event will also be livestreamed.

“Whether you are an active or potential angel, an aspiring entrepreneur or simply interested in strengthening our business community, we hope you will join us at Venture North Bay,” said Ian Lane, executive director at Northern Ontario Angels, in a news release.

Dum Audio is a North Bay company that manufactures high-fidelity home audio equipment.

Wrmth, also based in North Bay, manufactures heated Muskoka-style chairs.

Sudbury-based Covergalls makes coveralls, designed specifically to fit women's bodies, for use in mining, construction, forestry, and other industries.

Venture North Bay will take place at the Nipissing University Student Union Student Centre at 221 College Drive from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are available until the end of day on Oct. 11. Register for the event here.

Venture North Bay follows the recently held Venture North, a one-day business forum in Sudbury, featuring seminars, fireside chats, networking opportunities, and a power pitch session.
