Food tourism in Northern Ontario will be on the agenda this January during a food forum.

The Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance (CTA) will be holding a series of food forums in Northern Ontario communities this January.

The Forum on Food, Farms & Tourism is travelling to communities across the North between Jan. 16 and Jan. 24, including North Bay and Temiskaming Shores.

The Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance is leading efforts in research, education and product development to promote the growth of the industry.

The forum is described as “a must-attend event for anyone in the food industry (restaurants, caterers, producers, processors) interested in the farm-to-table concept.”

Topics of conversation include a Framework for Food Tourism, Food Tourism 101, Market Readiness Review, Best Practices Panel, and a Taste of Place discussion.

There will also be opportunities to meet the farmers, artisan food producers, farmers markets, restaurants, accommodations, attractions, festivals and events, tour operator and culinary schools in each region.
