Northern College’s Haileybury School of Mines and the Gangue-sters Rock & Mineral Club are preparing to host their 31st annual Gem and Mineral Show.

The show will be held on March 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the campus gymnasium.

Vendors from across Ontario will showcase a variety of geological wares. Show standards like minerals, gems and jewellery will be complemented by some rare finds, including geodes and meteorites. Most samples will be available for purchase.

Other natural resource collectables like fossils, petrified wood and mounted insects will also be available. Local artisans will be selling various arts and crafts.

Admission for the 31st annual Gem and Mineral Show is $2 at the door, and free for children under 12. Proceeds from the show will be used to purchase equipment and fund field trips for Northern College’s Haileybury School of Mines Mining Engineering Technician program.
