The province is now accepting applications to fourth round of funding under the Junior Exploration Assistance Program.

The program provides junior exploration companies with rebates of up to one third of a company’s exploration spending — to a maximum of $100,000 per project — to assist with early-stage exploration on Ontario mineral properties.

In addition to increasing mineral exploration and discoveries in the province, the program aims to foster training and capacity building for new and potential prospectors, and to encourage Indigenous peoples to become more involved in the mineral development sector.

The government will accept applications until Dec. 15, 2017.
