Mining Transformed, the mining technology tradeshow hosted by NORCAT, will return to Sudbury in 2026.

Billed as the world’s only technology exhibition taking place in an active underground mine, Mining Transformed is slated to take place May 25-27, 2026, at the NORCAT Underground Centre in Onaping, west of Sudbury.

This will mark the third iteration of the event, which debuted in 2022 and is held biennially.

“Mining Transformed is a unique technology exhibition designed to connect and broker relationships between technology companies (the ‘builders’ of innovation) and global mining companies (the ‘buyers’ of innovation) with the goal of expediting technology adoption and broader diffusion in one of the world’s most important industries,” NORCAT’S CEO, Don Duval, said in a news release.

“We are excited to once again leverage our unique ecosystem and validate our role as the global ‘one-stop shop’ for all that is the future of mining technology and innovation.”

Three days of activities include a welcome networking event, demonstrations of emerging mining technology, and an after-hours event.

At the inaugural event in 2022, 46 exhibitors participated, and 75 per cent of technology companies that attended said they generated more than three meaningful sales leads as a result of demonstrating at an underground mine.

Organizers say early registration for this year’s event is recommended as space is limited.
