About 80 jobs will be created in Foleyet when the Claude Rundle gold mine commences production in 2003.
The operation, located about 60 kilometres south of the village, has known deposit one million tonnes of ore at a grade of .25 ounces of gold per tonne, for a mine life of five years. A potential one million extra tonnes could extend the mine for as long as 12 years.
If the permitting approvals and additional investors still to come aboard, Claude Rundle Gold Mine Inc. expects to process 450 tonnes of ore daily at its milling facility.
