Northern municipalities will share in a funding pool of $82 million from the province to assist in infrastructure-related projects. The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp. announced in early December it would allocate money to each municipality on a population basis, providing $100,000 for the smallest municipality and up to $5 million each for Thunder Bay and Sudbury. Municipalities will have until the end of 2002 to apply for the funds.
