Mayors across the country are being asked to take the Buy American battle directly to their U.S. counterparts, and we need you to contact your mayor or councillor today!
Simply put, U.S. cities are restricted from buying Canadian-made goods for their stimulus programs, where Canada has no restrictions.
The City of North Bay has written to mayors of U.S. cities where we made large purchases and reminded them their city would have had layoff last summer if it weren’t for our orders.
Naturally, we prefer to buy Canadian goods, but sometimes we simply don’t make the products here. And because we want to get the best value for our local taxpayers, we go with the best price, no matter where they’re located.
