Two northwestern Ontario companies were recipients of Northern Ontario Heritgage Fund funding.

Manitou Forest Products in Emo received $913,657 for new equipment and building refurbishments that will increase production and allow year-round operation of the sawmill building. The government said seven jobs will be created.

Henry's Trucking in Emo received $462,500 to expand its forest harvesting operations by purchasing new logging equipment. Three jobs are being created.

"Supporting Emo's forestry industry is good for people and good for business in the North," said Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines Greg Rickford in an Aug. 17 news release.
