The First Nations Economic Advancement Conference is held annually.

Indigenous economic developers from across the province will gather in Thunder Bay in September for the 14th annual conference of the Ontario First Nations Economic Developers Association.

Themed ‘Ready, Set, Grow: Seizing Economic Opportunities’, the conference is slated to take place Sept. 15-18 at the city’s Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre and will focus on sustainable business success.

The three-day event will include workshops and tours, an exhibitors’ area, artisan tables, networking opportunities, and a gala and awards evening.

Topics will include business development, strategic partnerships, economic recovery, growth planning, leadership, entrepreneurship financing access, business startups, and project management readiness.

In 2024, the conference drew 290 delegates, which included economic development officers, First Nation chiefs and councillors, Indigenous business owners, government officials, industry leaders, corporate sponsors, and other dignitaries.

Registration is now open.
