The North Bay Society of Architects (NBSA) has announced the launch of its annual $2,500 in scholarships for students in North Bay and the surrounding area.

The NBSA’s scholarship program, which was initiated in 2019, consists of two scholarships for prospective post-secondary architecture students.

“Our goal is to promote the development of the next generation of Northern Ontario architectural professionals, and we are pleased to offer financial support," said NBSA vice-chair Jeff De Decker.

The first scholarship is valued at $1,500 and is designated for one student pursuing a university degree in architecture. The second scholarship is worth $1,000 and will be dispersed to a student pursuing a college diploma in an architectural field, such as architectural technology or interior design.

To be eligible for the scholarships, students must be set to graduate from secondary school at the end of the current school year or must have graduated within the past two years. Students must also be graduates of secondary schools located within the NBSA’s region of service, pursuing post-secondary education in architecture for the first time, and have proof of acceptance into first-year studies in a relevant program.

Applications for both NBSA’s 2022 scholarships are due by 12 p.m. on Friday, June 10. Full application details and relevant forms can be obtained here or by emailing chair@nbsa.ca.
