The four-laning expansion of Highway 11 will bring economic opportunities and more tourism traffic for the region, organizers of an upcoming round-table conference say. About 200 area business leaders and development officials will be attending the Prosper from the Pavement Conference, May 5 at the Machar Community Centre in South River.

The new highway realignment is scheduled to by-pass some communities along the Highway 11 corridor, which could create some potential economic impacts, a project manager says. The event is being hosted by the Almaguin Highlands Strategic Plan Implementation Committee, the Village of South River and the Micro Business Development Centre (MBDC).
