Municipal Affairs minister to speak at annual homebuilders' meeting (9/02)

Delegates from across Ontario will converge at the Ontario Home Builders' Association annual general meeting in Huntsville, Oct. 8 to 10.

Hosted at the Deerhurst Resort, members will elect a new president and board of directors to serve for the balance of 2002 and 2003.

Minister of Municipal Affairs Chris Hodgson will address attendees at the opening breakfast Oct. 9 and is expected to highlight a number of issues of interest to Ontario's building and development industry in the areas of the Development Charges Act, Planning Act changes and developments with Smart Growth.

Also on the conference speaker's list are Andrew Pyle, senior economist for Scotia Capital; Al Leach, former provincial municipal affairs minister and Steve Jacques, manager of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation marketing analysis department.
