Ontario farmers and agri-food producers can now apply for funds to help alleviate challenges related to COVID-19 under the Place to Grow: Agri-food Innovation Initiative, a cost-sharing program under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership.

The most recent intake launched on Nov. 4 and submissions must be received by Nov. 26.

Under Place to Grow, ag producers can apply to the cost-sharing initiative under one of several categories, including food safety and traceability, animal health, plant health, soil health and water quality, and economic development.

The goal is to drive innovation, reduce red tape, and address industry priorities in the agricultural industry.

This most recent intake also includes the Recovery/Contingency Planning and Response category.

It will support projects that offer solutions in response to challenges identified during the COVID-19 pandemic, including labour and workforce training needs.
