Young leaders recognized in Sudbury

Some of Sudbury's up-and-coming community leaders were recognized at the 40 Under Forty event, Nov. 17.

Some of Sudbury's up-and-coming community leaders were recognized at the 40 Under Forty event, Nov. 17.

The event was presented by Patricia Mills, publisher of Northern Ontario Business (NOB), and co-hosted by Cory McPhee, corporate affairs vice-president at Vale Base Metals and Kimberley Wahamaa, operations manager at NOB.

“All of the award recipients were acknowledged for their achievements, contributions, and leadership,” said Patricia Mills. “There were a wide variety of award winners, each individual added to the awards in a unique way. It was a great celebration for all of the exceptional young leaders in our community.”

The event is a celebration for all individuals under the age of 40, who bring a great deal of contribution to Sudbury. This can be through volunteering, personal success, entrepreneurship, leadership and community building. The background of each award winner is different and adds to the community in a positive way. The event is to recognize the achievements of the future leaders.
