André Roy has been appointed vice-president of operations at Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd., a Canadian gold producer with mining and milling complexes in Wawa and Val d'Or, Que.

A native of Val d'Or, Que., Roy is a professional engineer with 30 years of mining experience in Ontario and Quebec.

He has worked in all facets of management and engineering for various international mining and engineering companies, according to a Jan. 4 press release.
