VMS Ventures Inc. has begun exploration on its three Sudbury projects—Golden Pine, Terra Incognita, and Black Creek—located 37 km north of Sudbury.

“We have now started our initial $250,000 exploration program on our Sudbury projects,” said VMS COO Neil Richardson in a news release. “We like the fact that these projects have seen limited and spotty exploration activity over the last 20 years or so. We have optioned a sizable, prospective land package and all historical data has now been synthesized into one database. This work has resulted in several multi-element targets being outlined. Exploration programs will begin immediately and will continue till year-end."

At Golden Pine, the most advanced project, VMS is looking for gold and silver. The site has previously undergone drilling, bulk sampling, stripping and channel sampling. New geological information will be completed in early 2012.

Also located in Parkin Township, Terra Incognita is contiguous to Golden Pine and Black Creek, but remains relatively underexplored due to extensive overburden cover in the area. The site has potential for base metals and gold. Planned future work on the site includes time-domain electromagnetic surveying and follow-up diamond drilling.

Black Creek, located in Parkin and Hutton Townships, is a gold and base metal prospect with anomalous gold reported in black sands of the Vermilion River. Surveys have been completed on the property, and follow-up work will include diamond drilling, and mechanical excavator power stripping and washing of outcrop.

VMS Ventures Inc. is primarily focused on acquiring, exploring, and developing copper-zinc-gold-silver massive sulphide deposits in Manitoba. It owns approximately 45 per cent of North American Nickel Inc.
