Thunder Bay accountant Walter Flasza has received the top honour in his profession.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario has announced Flasza as one of 75 Ontario chartered accountants named as Fellows of the Institute. He earns the designation of FCA. It is the highest designation the institute confers. Fellowship is awarded for outstanding service to the community and the profession.
Flasza, a partner with BDO Dunwoody LLP, is an active member of the Thunder Bay community serving as president of the United Way from 2005 to 2007 where he helped raise a record fundraising goal of $2 million. He also volunteers for several local charities.
“Being elected FCA by their peers is an indication of the esteem these CAs enjoy in their profession and communities,” said Gerald Mills, Chair of the Institute. “It is testimony to how much each has contributed to both the CA profession and their respective communities.”
