Timmins Chamber again earns national 'accreditation with distinction'

For the second time since 2007, the Timmins Chamber of Commerce has earned "accreditation with distinction" status from the Chamber Accreditation Council of Canada.

Being accorded accreditation means demonstrating solid performance across three areas: policy and advocacy, membership programs and services, and organization and administration. Strong performance in two other categories, governance and strategic planning, lead to the status of accreditation with distinction.

The accreditation is valid for a two-year period, after which a chamber must once again collect material and documentation supporting its core functions. The Timmins Chamber's accreditation status is now valid until 2012.

The Timmins Chamber is just one of 72 chambers of commerce across Canada to receive either accreditation or accreditation with distinction status since it was first offered in 2004.
