An upcoming bio-energy conference and trade show in Thunder Bay will showcase the opportunities and lay the groundwork for the northwest's emerging biomass economy.
The event, Shifting Gears to a Bioeconomy, goes April 26-27 at the Valhallla Inn.
On the agenda are Canadian and international experts on the province's bioenergy potential, new boiler and wood pellet technologies, transportation, markets and community district heating plans.
The event is sponsored by the Canadian Bioenergy Association (CANBIO), Thunder Bay's Centre for Research and Innovation in the Bio-Economy (CRIBE) and the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry.
There will be speakers from Ontario Power Generation, CANBIO, FP Innovations, Lakehead University, Tembec, AbitibiBowater, Pratt & Whitney Power Systems, Finland and the Netherlands.
