The forestry consultants, headed by Peer Higgelke and Laird Van Damme, segued into mining and exploration projects last year and are now expanding their expertise.

In a Nov 2 release, the owners announced that Arnold Rudy (GIS, GPS and Remote Sensing), Ian Gillies (Flight Operations and Airborne Data Collection), Shawn Mizon (Photogrammetry and GIS) and Stephane Audet (Field Operations and Renewable Resources) have joined the team.

The company said they bring a wealth of skills as KBM moves into new areas of service.

The 27-employee firm has added a second aircraft with aims to be a major player in North American aerial photography in assisting municipal, provincial, territorial and federal government departments.

“We have assembled a stellar team along with partnerships with other local professional terms which will allow us to compete anywhere in the world,” said Higgelke.

“With our new organizational structure we can not only do good things to assist companies and people but we can ensure that it is done in a way that maximizes protection of our ecosystems,” said Van Damme.

Established in 1974, the company has branch offices in in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and southern Ontario.
