Creating sustainable communities will be the buzz words on the lips of attendees at the Sustainable Communities in the North conference, Feb. 25-26 in Thunder Bay.
The event is being hosted by Confederation College, Lakehead University Student Union, Environment North, Eco Superior, Earthwise Thunder Bay and Northern Connections.
The conference is targeting local businesses, First Nations and remote communities, students and the general public.
The topics to be covered in a series of workshops include Sustainable Purchasing Policies, Sustainable Design and Influencing Public Policy.
The keynote speaker is Peter Robinson, former CEO of Mountain Equipment Co-op and CEO of the David Suzuki Foundation.
