Collège Boréal's Louis Rancourt, a professor in Boréal's School of Trades and Applied Technology, has had his research published in the scientific journal Physics Essays.
“This is a proud moment for Collège Boréal, because we are celebrating a culminating point in a college career that has led to published research in a world-renowned scientific journal,” college president Denis Hubert-Dutrisac said in a news release. “Thanks to its outstanding professors and partnerships in its various communities, Collège Boréal has become, in just a few years, a major player in the area of applied research.”
Rancourt's research explores the nature of gravity, demonstrating that light obstructs gravity. He's named this the Boréal Effect.
“After a lifetime of work in education, my wish is is that my observations will open doors to new research avenues and useful applications for the scientific community,” Rancourt said.
The publication of Rancourt's work comes following an announcement that Collège Boréal now meets the eligibility criteria of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
