Sudbury will conduct a study to determine the feasibility of a solar photovoltaic electricity generating system for Greater Sudbury Utilities.

The study is being made possible through a $100,000 grant from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp.'s (NOHFC) Northern Energy Program.

Once installed, the project will generate 30 KW of power under the province's Feed-in Tariff program. The system will be installed in a city landfill site, and results from the pilot project will determine the feasibility of full-scale systems.
