The Renewable Resource Recovery Corporation in Sudbury has received funds to move forward with the development of industrial solar-generated electricity and thermal heat panels, and provide research data on the green technology.

The company received $100,000 from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp.'s (NOHFC) Emerging Technology Program.

“Our government is committed to investing in emerging technology to build the economy of tomorrow,” Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci said in a news release. “By investing in this project, we are helping this local business develop unique technology that could result in clean energy, and new jobs in our community.”

The company will develop and research the green technology via a pilot project, which involves the installation of wall and roof panels on residential and commercial buildings in Sudbury.
