Sudbury association recognizes home builders

Accolades were given out by the Sudbury & District Home Builders’ Association Oct. 19 to recognize excellence in residential building design.

Close to 200 builders, renovators, suppliers and retailers attended the Residential Awards of Excellence gala at the Radisson Hotel.

Award winners were selected by industry professionals from Northeastern Ontario. Judging criteria included design components, floor plan, customer service, technology, innovation and creativity, function and curb appeal.

In the suppliers and retail category, the award for best overall supplier went to Northern Air Climate Care, while best overall showroom was awarded to Surface Design & Décor.

In the exterior construction and design category, the award for most innovative exterior detailing went to J. Corsi Developments Inc.

In the new home category, Zulich Construction Inc. earned the award for best new home 2,500 square feet and over, and best custom-built new home; J. Corsi Developments Inc. earned a nod for best new home less than 25,000 square feet and best kitchen in a new home; and Zagmar Builders got the nod for best bathroom in a new home.

In the home renovation and addition category, La Cuisine Kitchen won for outstanding kitchen or conversion. 

Lifestyle Homes Inc. dominated the rest of the category, earning awards for outstanding bathroom or conversion, outstanding alternate space, and outstanding renovation under $100,000.
