The Sharpe Group of Stratton has been awarded a $3-million Ontario government contract to replace a Highway 11 bridge near Atikokan.
Work begins this spring with completion later in the year.
In a Dec. 28 news release, the Ontario government said the project to reconstruct the McCauley Creek bridge will create 30 jobs.
“The Northern Highways Program makes important investments in highway infrastructure that ensure road safety for local residents while creating jobs for Northerners and maintaining vital transportation links for local industries,” said Rick Bartolucci, Minister of Northern Development and Mines.
