Shaving and paving on the North Shore

Kitchener road builder E. & E. Seegmiller landed a $6.4-million contract to repave a section of the Trans-Canada Highway on the north shore of Lake Superior. The work involves surfacing a 28-kilometre stretch of Highway 17, east of Terrace Bay.

The work involves surfacing a 28-kilometre stretch of Highway 17, east of Terrace Bay.

The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry said the project is part of Ontario's Northern Highways Program and will create 45 jobs.

Construction begins this spring and is scheduled for completion later this year.
