Orazietti is the groundbreaking of the Francis H. Clergue French Immersion school is part of his government's plan to provide students with "state-of-the-art" infrastructure that will help them reach their full potential."

Several schools in the city have been deemed by the Ministry of Education as "prohibitive-to-repair."

Orazietti has already pulled in public money for another major education project, the new $46.7 million Superior Heights Collegiate and Vocational School which began construction in February. There is also an expansion planned for St. Patrick's Catholic elementary school and an increase from kindergarten to Grade12 will take place at Notre-Dame-des-Ecoles.

Despite a decline in school enrolment of 4,558 students in the last seven years, the McGuinty has pumped an additional $30.6 million into the city.
