Dereck Whitmell has been appointed the new chair of the board of directors of the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre.
Whitmell has served with the board for eight years and moves from the role of secretary to assume his new position. He replaces outgoing chair Chris Wray, who served on the board for more than 10 years.
Whitmell has worked in the information technology industry for more than 25 years. He is currently employed with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. in the role of vice-president of technology delivery for lottery, enterprise information management and internet gaming.
