The provincial government is depositing $6.6 million more into a Sault Ste. Marie high school construction project.

Sault MPP David Orazietti made the announcement Dec. 18.

The money is earmarked toward what is being identified as “soft costs” specifically in architectural and design work.

The government has now committed $46.7 million toward a new campus that will combine two high schools and house grades 7-12.

Two high schools were identified as being 'prohibitive-to-repair' by the Algoma District School Board.

The new high school will be called Superior Heights Collegiate and Vocational School and will open in the fall of 2011 at the corner of Second Line and North Street.
