Thunder Bay International Airport posted a new record for passenger volume in 2012.
The airport reports 761,300 passengers passed through the terminal last year, a 5.8 per cent increase over the previous year.
“We are starting the year with all winter charter companies reporting strong demand,” said Scott McFadden, the airport's president and CEO. “These are the perfect conditions for the introduction of the new United Airlines service early in 2013.”
The carrier begins daily jet service to Chicago's O'Hare Airport on Feb. 14.
