Rainbow District School Board and Greentec will be hosting an electronics recycling event for the community in Sudbury and Manitoulin in April.
Outdated computers, servers, print cartridges and cell phones are gathered by Greentec Recycling Solutions and sent to the Greentec processing plant in Southern Ontario, at no cost to the Board.
Over the last year, Rainbow District School Board has recycled over 10,000 pounds (4500 kilograms) of electronic equipment as part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability.
Greentec Rep Brett Belcher says that end of life should ne mean end of value, and that reusing electronics helps to protect and preserve the planet for generations to come, according to a press release.
