Quadra FNX Mining announces fourth quarter and 2010 production results

Quadra FNX Mining Ltd. has announced that in 2010, it produced 224 million pounds of copper and seven million pounds of nickel from its US, Canadian and Chilean mines.

Quadra FNX Mining Ltd. has announced that in 2010, it produced 224 million pounds of copper and seven million pounds of nickel from its US, Canadian and Chilean mines.
Its Canadian operations, based in Sudbury, produced a total of 49 million payable pounds of copper, 7 million pounds of nickel and 75,000 ounces of TPMs. Production from the Morrison deposit continued to increase during the fourth quarter. Rehabilitation on Shaft No. 2 continues targeting a completion date by the end of 2011. It is expected to increase the production rate to be more than 45 million payable pounds of copper. McCreedy West contributed five million pounds of payable copper and 32,000 ounces of TPMs. Plans for mining of contact nickel ore from McCreedy West have not progressed.
The 2011 production from Podolsky is expected to range between 18 and 21 million pounds of copper and about 20,000 to 25,000 ounces of TPMs and about 1 million pounds of nickel. Exploration will focus on improving the reserve base.
"We will also continue to drive forward on our Victoria discovery, which will remains a key option for improving our production profile and longevity in the Sudbury Basin," said president and CEO Paul Blythe.
