The provincial government is providing $295,015 to Sault Ste. Marie's Algoma University to create an Ontario Digital Games Business Incubator Network. MPP David Orazietti made the announcement Feb. 10.

The network will link business incubators and related institutions serving the digital games development community in Ontario. Game developers enrolled at the university and related start-up companies will be able to access programs and services across the province.

The money comes through the Entertainment and Creative Cluster Partnerships Fund.

Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre executive director Tom Vair said this sector holds “tremendous promise” and “we look forward to assisting companies utilizing the resource this funding provides.”
