The Township of Emo in the Rainy River District of northwestern Ontario is receiving a topped-up investment from the provincial government for its fledgling industrial park.

Northern Ontario Heritage Fund is adding $69,171 to the $121,900 already committed to the township to help fund municipal services to the park.

The municipality wants to promote the growth of local industry and agriculture by providing water, sewer and power to future tenants.

The park is already the site of a new community-owned abattoir. It's being used by livestock producers to process cattle, sheep, hogs, elk and bison.
