Collège Boréal's new Institute of Trades has received a $4-million shot in the arm from the province to help fund a new 81,000-square-foot facility in Sudbury. The money, provided through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, supplements $5.5-million already provided by the province through the Strategic Capital Infrastructure Fund. The new facility will increase Boréal's square footage to 417,000, and will allow for the introduction of new French trades programs. These include masonry, painter/decorator, health and safety, and milling machinist. It will also assist the school with delivering new culinary arts and stage technician programs in the fall of 2011.
