Province focuses safety blitz on forklifts

 
The month of February will find inspectors from the Ministry of Labour scouring the province with an eye for safety on forklifts and lifting devices.

Inspections will ensure lifting equipment is being inspected and maintained in good condition, operated by well-trained employees, and used in safe work environment.

This blitz will be conducted concurrently with the fall hazards blitz announced in early January, where inspectors visit construction sites to examine hazards related to suspended platforms. They look for compliance with fall protection requirements, such as appropriate fall-related equipment and worker training.
