Prodigy Gold has updated its gold resources at its Magino Mine project near Wawa in northeastern Ontario.
In a Nov. 2 release, the Vancouver exploration firm said it has more than doubled its gold resource with a new estimate of more than 2.1 million ounces indicated and more than 1.7 ounces inferred.
Snowden Mining Industry Consultants of Vancouver performed the estimate which will be incorporated into an update to the project's preliminary economic assessment expected later this year.
The company said the increase will enable Prodigy to evaluate an expansion of a proposed open pit operation.
