Ontario is the most competitive province in Canada. Site Selection magazine has picked Ontario for three consecutive years.
“Ontario is proud to win this award for the third year in a row,” said Economic Development and Innovation Minister Brad Duguid in a statement. “It demonstrates that Ontario is moving in the right direction, attracting more investment and creating jobs.”
The Ontario government attributes this province's competitive edge to its “strong action on the deficit” and its “modernized business climate” that's created 324,900 jobs since 2009.
The award is given to provinces based on the number of qualifying new facilities, expansions and per capital projects, investments and job creation. The rankings are based on June 2011 to May 2012 project data.
Hamilton attracted the most industrial and commercial development than any other Canadian city.
