The not-for-profit organization, which serves the forestry, mining, paper, printing and converting industries, oversees health and safety initiatives across the North. The board is responsible for representing the interests of the organization's members, determining the strategic direction of the organization and raising awareness about the services it provides.

Workplace Safety North was created last year, merging the Ontario Forestry Safe Workplace Association, the Pulp and Paper Health and Safety Association and the Mines and Aggregates Safety and Health Association.

The board is additionally seeking candidates interested in serving in a future capacity on the board. Eligible candidates should have senior executive and leadership experience in one of the applicable industries.

Board members, which sit for a three-year term, are required to meet six times a year, although meetings are often held via teleconference.

Submissions will be accepted until Oct. 30.
