FedNor Minister Tony Clement huddled with northeastern Ontario mayors March 3 to talk about Ottawa's Economic Action Plan.
Mayors from North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury and Timmins met with Clement in Ottawa to outline new programs and measures and how it will impact Northern Ontario communities.
"Canada's Economic Action Plan is a clear and decisive response to what Northern Ontario residents are expecting from their government in these difficult times," said Clement in a statement.
Clement said new initiatives such the community adjustment fund, the infrastructure stimulus fund and Recreational Infrastructure Canada initiative are "important tools" to keep the North's economy moving.
