NORCAT hosting innovation talk

The Northern Ontario Centre for Advanced Technology ( NORCAT ) in Sudbury will host its third innovation event Nov. 29. Tom Rand, the cleantech lead advisor at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, will be the guest speaker.

The Northern Ontario Centre for Advanced Technology (NORCAT) in Sudbury will host its third innovation event Nov. 29.

Tom Rand, the cleantech lead advisor at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, will be the guest speaker. Rand is an engineer, environmentalist, venture capitalist and philosopher whose ambition is to foster clean technology using an optimistic and pragmatic approach.

Rand’s talk will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Rand; Don Duval, CEO of NORCAT; Aime Dimatteo, director general of FedNor; and Alex Henderson, Vale’s general manager of mines and mills technology for the North Atlantic.

The free event will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the eDome at Cambrian College in Sudbury.
