Nipissing MPP and former North Bay mayor Vic Fedeli was presented with an annual award by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
Fedeli received the organization's annual MPP award in the Ontario Legislature, Oct. 17.
He was nominated by the local chapter of the PEO for his years of support for the organization.
He was specifically cited for his trip to the Ring of Fire mineral deposit in the James Bay lowlands where many North Bay area mining supply and engineering firms are working.
“He believes that the future of the Ring of Fire in Northern Ontario will depend heavily on professional engineers to develop the potential resource in an economical and environmentally sustainable manner,” said John Severino of the North Bay PEO chapter in his nomination submission.
“Mr. Fedeli's interest, participation and support of the local chapter of PEO helps raise the profile of engineers in our community.”
