Todd Tripp is the new manager of Sioux Lookout's Municipal Airport.
He starts his first day Jan 4. In a press release, Municipal CAO Merlin Dewing said Tripp's 30 years of experience in airline and airport management in operations, strategic planning, community-labour relations and development will be “extremely valuable” in the airport's growth plans.
“The Sioux Lookout Airport is an exciting environment of economic growth and infrastructure development aimed at meeting the demands of a growing community,” said Dewing.
As part of his duties, Tripp will work with the airport commission and the economic development office to assist in the short and long-term objectives in a promotional strategy to develop the airport lands.
As well, Neil Carbone is shifting from the community development and communications officer in the economic development department over to a new role as manager of community services. He'll take on a bigger role in the town's long-term strategy to promote Sioux Lookout as a cultural, tourism and recreation destination.
