The City of Thunder Bay has appointed Michael Smith as its new general manager of the facilities and fleet department.
He assume a lead role for major corporate construction projects and operation of corporate facilities, fleet services, construction and renovation services and transit operations.
Smith has worked in a similar capacity for 10 years with the City of Waterloo.
He will report to city manager Tim Commisso and officially starts his new position Sept. 6.
