A new call centre is coming to Thunder Bay this summer.
On-Line Support (OLS), an East Coast outsource provider, said it is expanding their inbound contact centre operations to Thunder Bay this summer, creating "several hundred jobs" at the entry and management positions.
"The City of Thunder Bay is pleased to have been selected as the successful site for OLS' expansion," said Mayor Lynn Peterson in a May 4 news release. "An initial creation of over 200 jobs, and the potential for up to 400 within the year, is a big win."
When OLS held a career fair last March, Ross Beattie, President and CEO, said the "overwhelming" response and the overall quality of people were the main factors in their decision.
OLS opened a site in Timmins last year and two others in Pembroke and Antigonish, N.S. over the past three years. The company has nine centres in Ontario, Nova Scotia and PEI.
Steve Demmings, CEO of the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission, called the OLS arrival a "big investment and we express our gratitude for investing in Thunder Bay."
The centre opens in June with hiring expected to begin immediately. Information on available positions are at www.joinols.com.
OLS provides customer care and technical support to various marquis clients with the communications, technology and financial services industries.
