More cash for Timmins area

The Timmins-James Bay area is the recipient of more Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) dollars. Five businesses will share about $93,000.

The Timmins-James Bay area is the recipient of more Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) dollars.

Five businesses will share about $93,000. These include: We Get Junk, a waste removal business in Timmins ($23,460); JumpStart Media, a web design and media business in Timmins ($25,000); Serene Pedersen Massage, a massage therapy business in Kapuskasing ($11,220); Paul's PVC Furniture Designs, an innovative business that will make furniture from reused PVC tubing and piping in South Porcupine ($5,700); and Candice Aston Physiotherapy, a physiotherapy clinic in Timmins ($27,500).

In September, a total of close to $6 million in NOHFC funding was announced in the northeast for 17 businesses, with more than half of them in the Timmins-James Bay area.
