Canadian manufacturing sales barely maintained their rising trend in November 2009, moving up 0.1 per cent to $42.6 billion, according to Statistics Canada.
This marked the fifth increase the sector saw in a six-month period.
Gains were seen in chemical manufacturing as well as the petroleum and coal products. These were offset by a downturn in the aerospace product and parts and motor vehicle industries.
Primary metal-sector manufacturing edged up 3.1 per cent over the previous month. However, this is still down 21.3 per cent from November 2008.
The transportation equipment industry saw a 4.3 per cent decline.
